SMC Het

The ICGC-TCGA DREAM Somatic Mutation Calling Tumor Heterogeneity Challenge (SMC-Het) focused on subclonal reconstruction: determining which cancer-cell populations are present in a tumor and which mutations belong to each population.

Participants were asked to estimate tumor purity and the number and prevalence of subclones, assign mutations to those subclones, and infer their evolutionary relationships. The challenge aimed to compare methods and identify conditions that affect their performance. See the SMC-Het project on Synapse for challenge materials.
