DREAM-SMC

The ICGC-TCGA DREAM Somatic Mutation Calling Challenge evaluated methods for identifying cancer-associated mutations from whole-genome sequencing data. Participants analyzed matched tumor and normal samples and submitted calls for single-nucleotide variants and larger genomic rearrangements.

The challenge brought together the International Cancer Genome Consortium, The Cancer Genome Atlas, Sage Bionetworks, and IBM-DREAM to compare algorithms against validation data. The challenge is closed; see the DREAM-SMC project on Synapse for its materials.
